Beat Grids-Beat Markers-Bar Marker-Beat Warp Markers? What do these things have to do with DJ-ing?

These are the core components that Serato Software and your controller needs for optimal performance!

The beat-grid controls the timing of your entire mix. If the grid is off even slightly your transitions drift, your phrasing slips, and nothing lines up the way it should. When the grid is correct,  your bars stay in sync, and every transition feels smooth and controlled. This tutorial shows you exactly how to place markers, fix drifting sections, and lock your grid so your mixes stay tight every time.

The Process

01

Find The DownBeat

The number one reason your mix is off is because the DownBeat Marker is not on the correct beat!

02

Align The Bar Markers

If the Bar Markers are not on beat 1 of every bar. You will experience tempo drift and mixing will become a challenge

Your Serato software is grid dependent! Sync, beat-matching, looping, slicer, quantize, and cue timing all rely on accurate beat-grid. If the grid is off, every one of these features will not perform as expected, which is why fixing the grid instantly improves your entire mix.
